April 2008
We have been VERY busy working on the creation of new limited edition/ signed print portfolios. In addition to our existing first portfolio edition, Selma and Lowndes County 1965-66, we have completed and are now pleased to offer the following five similarly designed and priced additional original print portfolios: Baldwin Street 1967-1974 Volume I, Civil Rights and War Protest Volume I, Acadian Cottage Portraits 1970, St.Shotts Newfoundland 1968, Toronto Jail (the Old Don) 1977. Check the above SELMA link for details about our portfolio design and how to order.
It has been much too long since we have updated our website, but not to worry! The fact is that we have been working hard at scanning and preparing hundreds of never before seen photographs. We will soon be adding hundreds of new photos to our "Selma 1965-66" category, but meanwhile, we are pleased to go online with a whole new category : "The Meredith Mississippi Freedom March of 1966". These photographs by John Phillips, with a very few exceptions, HAVE NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE ANYWHERE! Check them out!

March 2007
We have just added a new major category: A small fishing village in Newfoundland in the 60s: St. Shotts and there is also a new sub category in the Baldwin Street/Lifestyle section: Rochdale College
We have had requests for vintage (silver emulsion) prints of some of our images. In the coming months we will be opening up a "vintage print sales area" featuring vintage silver prints from the 60s of selected images from this website, at various prices. And of course, all the images on this website are available as "modern prints", 13 inches x 19 inches, for US $100 (this of course does not include reproduction rights, which are sold separately and vary acording to use) .
Additionally, if you can convince us that you APPEAR in any of the phtographs on this website, give us a shout and we are open to negotiating special print pricing.
We will soon be offering "PayPal" as a payment method.
January 2007
First of all, we are pleased to note that the traffic on our website has been increasing every month at a very significant rate; we thank you all for your participation and interest! We hope to soon activate a long promised feedback mechanism on this site, which should result in some interesting discussion. Also, don't forget that we are very open to additions and corrections to the "cutlines" accompanying our photographs.
We have added another new category under the Baldwin Street and Alternative Lifestyle category: Vietnam War Resisters
We have also begun to add various material to exisiting categories, so if you haven't checked lately, do so. Don't forget to refresh your browser's cache to see the latest material. We have a lot of material lined up that will be appearing soon, including several whole knew categories: One about a small fishing village in Newfoundland (St. Shottes/Trespassy") and the NFB's "Challenge For Change Program" from the 60's as well as a category featuring photographs from Mexico in the 60's.
We have around 600 images in total on line at the moment but plan to eventually have many thousands. Don't forget that the images you see on this website are very low resolution versions of the original high resolution images, ALL OF WHICH are available for purchase both as prints and for rights managed reproduction. We have recently been getting inquiries from collectors about the availability of "vintage" (made in the 60's and 70's on traditional silver emulsion) prints of material on this website. There are in fact, some of these available and we are planning to eventually have a category featuring vintage prints. Meanwhile, if you are interested in our vintage prints, just send us an email at the usual address:
(If clicking on the above doesn't automatically activate your email, just type the address in manually)
Finally, it finally snowed in Toronto, so check out the winter version of our video page!
December 2006
More new photos: check out: three new categories in the Baldwin Street Lifestyle section: People and Street Life, Children, and Baldwin/Darcy Laneway.
We have also introduced an entirely new base category on our homepage: called "Cabbagetown & Point Blank Free School".
There isn't much on there yet, but this gallery will eventually be huge, presenting the photographs that John Phillips took during the years that he taught film and photography to teenage school drop outs in the (then) run down section of downtown Toronto known as "Cabbagetown". This section will also include material covering those kids families and their roots "down home" in New Brunswick and Quebec.
Lastly, we have finally begun the editing of our high definition video documentary about the American exile (from the Vietnam War) community on Baldwin Street in Toronto the 60s and 70s. It will feature many of the photographs on this website as well as dozens of interviews done recently with the subjects of those old 60s photos. This project will take a while, but we do plan to eventually post some movie clips from that project on this web site, so keep an eye out for that!
November 2006
Many more new photos have been added: Communes under the Baldwin Street Lifestyle category, as well as Noel Thomas's unique and never before seen photos of jazz musicians including many of the Duke Ellington Orchestra Circa 1960 as well as Cannon Ball Adderley, Charlie Mingus and Rufus. These were scanned from original negatives, and as usual, have not been manipulated in any way other than for contrast and dust removal.
October 2006
We have finally added some new photographs! Check out our new categories: Street Festivals and Birth and Babies as well as: Musicians and Personalities. As usual, all content is original, exclusive and from the 60s and 70s. We hope to be adding new content on a more regular basis in the future. We are just getting going!
We are also pleased to announce that we have recently had the privilege to provide a large number of photographs to the National Park Service in the United States, for their Selma historical exhibits, bill boards and multimedia exhibits, in Alabama.
Regarding our Video Production Services, we are pleased to announce that we have added HD (High Definition) shooting and editing capability!
And last but not least, check out the new tunes that Jules has recently recorded in our audio studio with his new band: "The Party Program"
March 2006
We are very pleased to finally be able to begin making our exclusive photographic archives available for sale through the internet. Please come back soon; we are just getting started and will be adding content on a regular basis for some time to come as well as improving the interface and adding features.
We are very proud of our photographic work from the 60's and 70's, however, we have not been idle since those days. We currently offer a broad range of contemporary multi-media services to the Greater Metropolitan Toronto area including: video and audio production, contemporary digital still photography and printing and audio/music production.
